The very first versions of this print were discovered in several Liberty archive books dating from around the 1920s. Reimagined in a myriad of techniques, layouts, colourways and fabric bases over the years, Mary Kathryn has proven to be a true heritage icon for Liberty Fabrics- reminiscent of the elegant peacock feathers painted during the Aesthetic movement of the late 19th Century.
The Artist’s Home – a reflection on eclecticism and colour, filled with vibrant details to spark inspiration. The designers drew influence from historic creative retreats including Charleston Farmhouse, a romantic countryside escape famed for its hand-painted decorative interiors, as well as Yves Saint Laurent’s idyllic Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, and Barbara Hepworth’s sculpture studio and gardens on the dramatic Cornish coast
The fabrics are all Lasenby 100% cotton which is of a quality specifically woven for quilters.
