The Curved Dresden Plate 4-9 Inch Patchwork Templates by Matildas Own are laser etched for 100% accuracy. These digitally etched markings are the most precise and accurate markings you can find and will not fade over time or wear off. This imperial fiber optic template can be easily used on all kinds of fabric, be it light or dark, due to its easy to read fluro green colour, giving you a high degree of accuracy. Being so translucent makes it perfect for fussy cutting prints for making your beautiful blocks. To fussy cut, place the required template over a selected print or flower, centre as necessary, then trace/cut.
4-9 Inch has 6 pieces in the set. They are a 4", 5", 6", 7", 8" and 9"
10-15 Inch has 6 pieces in this set. They are a 10", 11", 12", 13", 14" and 15"
The size given on each piece is for the finished Curved Dresden Plate, the actual template pieces are smaller. Use the measurement given on each piece to cut a background block (plus seam allowance) and applique on your curved line. If sewing by machine, use a mechanical pencil to mark in the holes in the templates. If sewing by hand, use a mechanical pencil and a quarter plus tool to mark in the seam allowance at the holes in the templates.
For each block, choose which size you wish to use and cut 16 Curved Dresden pieces, one background block and one centre circle. To easily create your centre circle try using one of Matilda's Own Circle Sets (VC9 and VC6)
These templates are made in Australia. Each set comes with detailed instructions for piecing together this classic quilt block.
